Quality control is essential to the collection of good quality seismic data. Kingfisher uses experience and state of the art tools to identify and address quality problems in a timely manner.
Quality Control Tasks
- Assure optimal field data collection techniques are employed
- Review reporting and logging systems for content, consistency and accuracy
- Monitor crew's compliance with HSE and permit requirements
- Examine survey control and surveying techniques
- Compare pre-plot and post-plot survey data for positioning errors
- Review and approve any source or sensor repositioning due to hazards, culture or permit restrictions
- Monitor source techniques, deployment, performance and logging
- Check source synchronization and acquisition system timing
- Monitor sensor deployment
- Inspect, test and monitor recording instrumentation to ensure performance meets manufacturer's specifications
- Review field records for reflector quality and signal to noise ratio levels
- Produce detailed statistics on crew performance Check file headers of the seismic data to ensure correct field geometry is applied to each trace and shot-point location (requires field QA system)
- Produce interactive GIS database
